Leaders entertaining the young people around a camp fire at Sandiway camp site
The idea of Volunteering with young people in a group such as the Scouts may seem a bit overwhelming at first. What if I am no good at it? Do I have the time? Do they need me? Many people who are considering volunteering, especially if it’s for the first time probably have these thoughts. I know I did. Most likely all of the faces in the photo felt the same at first but I can guarantee that each and every one of them has enriched the lives of countless young people in more ways that I can even begin to count
Many of our Volunteers are not leaders. Groups need people who can look after equipment, who can look after money, who can manage a team or take notes at our AGM once a year. if you can tidy the hut once a week or mow the grass, If You can cook for 30+ people at camp or are able to help an 8 year old with crafts then we want to hear from you. Non of our volunteers are paid but you are rewarded in so many other ways.
We are always recruiting leaders. If you feel you would like to work with young people of any age, even if you have little or no experience just get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
